Chennai breast centre is unique in that it offers

Our mission is to save lives by increasing
awareness of breast cancer through education and by providing state of the

Dr. Selvi Radhakrishna is a consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon. She is
practicing at Apollo Speciality Hospital and Chennai Breast Centre.
She graduated from Madras Medical College, Madras University in 1988,
trained in general surgery in Chennai and in UK and is a fellow of the Royal
College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has trained extensively in breast
surgery from Cancer Institute-Adyar, AIIMS Delhi, and in Edinburgh breast

in research and educational activities in addition to her busy clinical
She specializes in doing various breast surgeries including breast
conservation surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, modified radical
mastectomy and various oncoplastic breast techniques.
As a lady surgeon, she understands and empathizes with a woman's anxiety
over breast related problems and goes that extra mile to do her best.
Chennai Breast Centre is a member of the National Cancer Grid, coordinated by Tata Memorial Hospitals, Mumbai, India. As a part the larger cancer group in the country, Chennai breast centre participates with data collection, sharing resources, training and research.

Chennai Breast Centre in collaboration with
researchers from Institute of Basic Sciences conducts spearheaded research
on oncology & female health issues. The current project on metastatic
potential of breast cancer by analysis of Matrix metalloproteases is of
prime focus at it will add new dimensions to treatment & regulation in
breast cancer. Apart from these Chennai Breast Centre has teams of
researchers working on other areas of importance.
Chennai Breast Centre has a memorandum of understanding with the Biotechnology department, IIT, Chennai to collect and store Tumour tissue samples for research. The facility also actively participates in research projects conducted by the Biotechnology department, IIT, Chennai
