Dr. Selvi Radhakrishna is a consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon. She is practicing at Apollo Speciality Hospital and Chennai Breast Centre.

She graduated from Madras Medical College, Madras University in 1988, trained in general surgery in Chennai and in UK and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has trained extensively in breast surgery from Cancer Institute-Adyar, AIIMS � Delhi, and in Edinburgh breast unit, UK.

She has a number of publications in international journals. She is involved in research and educational activities in addition to her busy clinical practice.

She specializes in doing various breast surgeries including breast conservation surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, modified radical mastectomy and various oncoplastic breast techniques.

As a lady surgeon, she understands and empathizes with a woman's anxiety over breast related problems and goes that extra mile to do her best.

For most people, meeting together with others who were in a similar situation can help to decrease feelings of anxiety, isolation, or fear. Our support group provides a sense of community and opportunity to share experiences and learn different ways of dealing with problems.

Chennai Breast Centre in collaboration with researchers from Institute of Basic Sciences conducts spearheaded research on oncology & female health issues. The current project on metastatic potential of breast cancer by analysis of Matrix mettalloproteases is of prime focus at it will add new dimensions to treatment & regulation in breast cancer. Apart from these Chennai Breast Centre has teams of researchers working on other areas of importance.
